Contribute with other aspirational students

Expect to fly by the seat of your pants

Want to experience the breathtaking pace of innovation in Genomics?

Learn, grow and become a fully-integrated member of the Illumina team by participating in our internship program. Our 12-week summer program, iAspire, focuses on relevant project work, professional and personal development, in addition to networking opportunities.

  • Add value by working alongside our engineers, scientists and corporate employees, using innovative approaches and technologies.
  • Enhance your skill “toolkit” and bond with other interns during program activities: impact patients as a volunteer, gain insight at a Senior Leader patio chat, craft your resume and interview skills at a workshop.

There is nothing typical about an internship at Illumina. Every day is an opportunity to learn from a visionary scientist, contribute to the team, and develop your skills – all while fitting in a basketball game during lunch. Combine that with a community of bright and accomplished students on the same exciting journey and it becomes much more than you ever imagined. Bring a sense of adventure, a love of learning and a passion for innovation and we will give you an experience you will remember for a lifetime.

Each summer, our global internship opportunities are embraced by Undergrad, Masters, MBA and PhD students. The positions span all skill sets, from the highly technical to corporate functions: Finance, Bioinformatics, Engineering, Research & Development, Marketing, and Software, among others.

Intern roles are posted in October, so please apply at that time. Top candidates will be invited to assessment events, which are held late January through early February. Offers are extended in early February, with early through mid-June program start dates. If you are a rising junior through senior in an undergrad program with a GPA of 3.2 or higher (will be verified), or a grad student, apply for an exciting and rewarding internship experience with us.
NOTE: Roles in our APAC and EMEA regions are posted in November, with late February through early March assessment events.
