After struggling with infertility for 6 years and undergoing multiple intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles without success, couple Helen and Louis wondered if a child was in their future. At age 41, Helen worried it wasn’t possible for them to have a family. The couple decided to try IVF with preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) from Illumina. PGS screens embryos to select the most viable embryos for transfer, maximizing IVF success. Now with a healthy baby girl, Helen and Louis reflect on the difference PGS technology made for them.
